climb a hill

i have wasted
a summer half-life
through regret and
words and far too
much coffee.

i say to myself:
you are lost,
and no northing moss,
or boots in the oven
will help you.

so tie your boots on,
find an orising horizon
and climb a hill to
throw something off there
to rain down on the mountain town.
